Procter and Gamble Manufacturing Facility

Inwood, WV

This $500 million manufacturing hub in West Virginia is one of the State’s largest economic development projects in its history.  The project consists of a 4,325,540-square-foot manufacturing plant on 458 acres in the Tabler Station Business Park, located between Interstate 81 and the Winchester and Western Railroad line.  Of the 458 acres, 111 acres is building area, 54.5 acres is parking area and 222 acres is the total impervious area.  In addition to the main building, Phase I construction includes 2,197 parking spaces, 700 trailer storage spaces, a wastewater pretreatment facility and a railroad spur yard as well as multiple swales and ponds to manage and treat stormwater runoff.  In addition to construction at the site, extensive improvements and additions to the surrounding roadways have been completed.

Specialized Engineering provided Special Inspections and construction materials testing multiple buildings on this project including:

  • Soil Compaction

  • Foundations

  • Concrete placement Reinforcing steel and formwork

  • Asphalt placement

  • Masonry inspections

  • Structural steel

  • Light gauge framing

  • Waterproofing

  • Laboratory testing of soil materials, concrete, mortar and grout samples
