DDC/DDSP Central Heating Plant

OVERVIEW

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) DDC/DDSP Central Heating Plant project consists of the construction of a new Central Heating Plant (CHP) at Defense Depot Susquehanna Pennsylvania, New Cumberland, PA. The new CHP is designed to have two (2) 75 MBTU/HR boilers and one (1) 50 MBTU/HR boiler, with Number 2 diesel fuel as primary fuel. The designs include administrative office space, employee break area, restrooms and lockers, storage tank to hold minimum of a 30 day supply of Number 2 diesel fuel, along with an emergency back-up generator with automatic switch security fencing and access gate around the fuel tanks. Anti-terrorism/Force Protection measures will include laminated glass and traffic control barriers. The new utility infrastructure will connect to the existing distribution system. Upon completion of the project, the existing CHP, Building 86, two storage sheds, and two existing fuel oil storage tanks will be demolished.
